Fontyn
2008 Hanoverian Filly
Intelligent, confident, and people-oriented, Fontyn has much to offer as both a competition horse and a broodmare. She is a beautiful modern type that we expect will mature around 16.1 hands. Her gaits are light and extremely well blanced and her attitude is responsive and respectful. Fontyn's pedigree is unique and founded in proven performance lines.
Sire Fred Astair (Fabriano – Godewind) is an FEI dressage stallion competing under Tom Noone. In 2008 the pair won the Intermediaire I East Coast Riders Cup at the Centerline Events at HITS show in Saugerties, NY. Fred Astair’s sire, Fabriano, won his Performance Testing with a score of 133 points and high marks in both the dressage and jumping portions. He has produced more than 10 approved sons and more than 50 State Premium Mares.
Fontyn’s dam, SPS Malena, received an overall 8 at her studbook inspection and earned 8’s on gaits and rideability at her Mare Performance Test. She was sired by the Celle stallion Maurice (Matcho – Garibaldi II) was the winner of his Stallion Performance Test and went on to an FEI dressage career and was long-listed for the Canadian Dressage Team. Malena’s dam, Wonne, is a full-sister to the stallion Western Star, sire of Olympic medal winner Weyden.
Fontyn attended the Dressage at Lexington Breed Show in July and placed 2nd in the Yearling Fillies class. In her second outing, she earned a 78.8 and placed 6th in the very competitive yearling Fillie's class at Dressage at Devon. She is ready to continue at breed shows this summer and is well behaved in new environments.
