KilkennyKilkenny

1999 Trakehner Gelding
Bay, 16.3 hands

A wonderful confidence booster and friend, Kilkenny is an excellent match for an amateur or junior rider looking to gain experience on a safe, sane and talented partner.  He has years of show miles, is uncomplicated to ride, and is a pleasure to work around.

Kilkenny has shown extensively at Training and First Level the past two seasons and has earned scores up to 74%.  He is a big-moving horse but has comfortable gaits.  He has schooled some of the Second Level work, but is happiest at Training and First Level and if headed to a dressage home, we would be looking for a home that would plan on working at this level.

He was shown prior to his purchase by his current owner as a hunter and still shows beautiful, consistent form over fences and has clean flying changes.  He has started jumping under saddle again and could easily transition back to this discipline.

Sire Alter Fritz was a Premium Stallion at his kuering in 1997, was the vice champion of the Trakehner Championships for young riding horses at Steinhagen-Brockhagen and was successful in riding tests for young horses and in dressage competitions at M level.

Grandsire Kostolany competed in FEI dressage and was named the 2009 Trakehner Stallion of the Year.  Kostolany is the grandsire of the impressive Totilas who is currently breaking world records under Edward Gal.

"Potter" is sound, has no vices, and has good ground manners.  He travels well and enjoys hacking out.

Price: $30,000
