One of the very first Popeye foals and what a special one she is!  Popstar was named a Premium Foal at her ISR/Oldenburg Inspection with scores of 8.2 for conformation, 8.3 for movement, 8.2 for overall impression.  With a final overall score of 8.2 she was also named Filly Champion of that inspection.

Sire Popeye was licensed in Germany and completed his Stallion Performance Testing with high marks, including a 9 for character and 9 and 9.5 for his walk.  In 2007, Popeye was named Reserve Champion Stallion in the USDF/GAIG East Coast Stallion Final at Dressage at Devon.  The next show season was filled with wins at Second Level under Jocelyn Wiese including the Championship at the East Coast Pony Cup in Saugerties, NY, Reserve Championship at the USDF Region 1 Finals, and Champion for USDF All-Breeds Awards (Westfalen) for Second Level Jr/Yr.  Popeye is now winning at Third Level in 2010 and is preparing for his 4th Level debut.

Popstar’s dam Faschon has been a consistent producer of Premium offspring that are well suited to the smaller dressage rider.  Son MacPherson (by Makuba) is earning scores into the mid-70’s at Training and First Level this year and is ready for his Second Level debut.  We expect Popstar to follow in his footsteps as a successful smaller dressage horse. Faschon's dam was an FEI competitor before her breeding career was started.

Popstar's first horse show was Dressage at Devon in September. She handled the entire experience beautifully and earned a 77.7% and 8th place in the large yearling fillies class and won the ISR Sport Pony IBC. She is confident in new surroundings and will show again in 2010 at breed shows.

This elegant filly has incredible rhythm in her movement and her trot shows exceptional scope.  She offers the gaits and athletic ability sure to please the petite dressage rider and her relatives have proven the rideability and trainability of these bloodlines.  Popstar is good to handle and work with on a daily basis, and is sound with no vices.
